Raising funds. Lifting spirits. Supporting dreams.
Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbors, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favorite one, no kid should be left out.
The vision of Jumpstart is simple: Canada, where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams.
Jumpstart is a national charity with a commitment to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities. Canadian Tire Corporation recognized this and makes sure that money raised stays where it is donated.
Canadian Tire Corporation is Jumpstart’s biggest supporter as it funds all the general administrative expenses of Jumpstart, which means 100% of customer donations go directly to hep kids in need.
KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. Through a confidential application process we provide grants so they can play a season of sport. Nationally, KidSport is comprised of a network of 11 provincial/territorial KidSport chapters and 166 community KidSport chapters. Since its creation in 1993, over 750,000 kids across the country have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming.
NOTE: please apply for funding at least one month before your registration fees are due to the TSC.
ATHLETICS 4 KIDS:
The support of A4K is available province-wide for children ages 5 to 18 who are currently enrolled in school. Basic registration fees are paid for a multitude of approved sports, up to an annual maximum of $450 per child.
Our Mission: To work diligently and thoughtfully in providing financially disadvantaged youth in the community with greater access to organized sport.
About Athletics for Kids Financial Assistance (B.C.) Society: All across BC, hundreds of children and youth are denied the opportunity to participate in amateur sports due to one simple fact: lack of funds. As a private funded charity, we are able to get dollars into the hands of those who need it most, quickly and effectively. We help famililies bear the expense of having their children participate in organized sports because we believe that all kids should have the chance to play.
