Skate Canada feeder Program:

Pre-Power & Learn to Skate

Skaters must wear a fitted, current CSA approved hockey helmet, gloves and hockey OR figure skates for our Fall Pre-Power / Learn to Skate.

CanPowerSkate's Pre-Power is designed for young hockey or ringette skaters,  who can stand up on skates and move forward (shuffle, walk or glide) who are not be ready for CanPowerSkate. Pre-Power helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills (from the Can Skate program).

Pre-Power session levels may vary season to season.

Skate Canada's Learn to Skate program is a short modified version of Can Skate.  Terrace Skating Club often offers a short Learn to Skate program in September prior to the Can Skate sessions starting.

Skates may wear hockey skates or figure skates to the Learn to skate.

Skaters will learn to move forward on the ice, glide, stop, fall down and those who are slightly more advanced will learn medium forward skating speed and backward skating.

Note:

>Pre-Power & Learn to Skate may be grouped together depending on levels and number of skaters.

>These programs may share the ice with other learn to skate groups such as Adult/Teen and Pre-Junior Intro to Figure Skating.
